Skylar and Trey had the 1st Grade Christmas play tonight. They did a great job and it was focusing on the true meaning of Christmas: CHRIST BIRTH! The theme was a spelling bee highlighting the many different names given to our Lord in the Bible. The songs were beautiful and glorifying to God! Merry Christmas!!!!

A message from Billy Graham
This is a recent prayer put out by Billy Graham in light of recent national and world events, I couldn't agree more!!
'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!'

A Great Book to Read: "23 Minutes in Hell"
Matt and I have started to read a great book called "23 minutes in Hell" by Bill Wiese. It is an amazing true story of a man's visit to Hell. The grave details of the evil and hatred in that place is astounding. We now understand why our charge as Christians is to bring the gospel to the ends of the earth so that people will see Christ for who he is, our Savior. In 2 Peter 3:9 it says "God is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance". We now have a better understanding of why God is so patient and why He wants no one to suffer eternity in Hell. We really could not put this book down and encourage others to read it as well!!
Here are a few exerts from the book in regards to his description of Hell: He speaks of seeing creatures there- "10-13 feet tall, intimidating, they were entirely evil, had unrestrained hatred for him that paralyzed him and panicked him. " He describes himself as: "having no strength, utter exhaustion, mental anguish, horrified, beyond terrified, in constant pain, hearing terror filled screams of an untold multitude of people crying out in torment, no sleep, no rest, no relief, no hope, no peace of mind, no fellowship, conversation or human interaction." But what was more scary was the complete lack of the presence of God and goodness. He describes the conditions to be: "Darkness that seemed to swallow the light, air filled with smoke, a filthy, deathly decaying odor depleting the oxygen, flames and heat overcame him, unquenchable thirst, a pit dug out for the wicked.
WOW! I sure don't want to go there!!!! The story gets better because we do have the hope of Jesus but I am thankful for this reminder that Hell is a real place and it should be our mission to help others avoid this place at all cost!!

NRCA Thanksgiving party
Skylar and friends in the Student Life Center for the Thanksgiving party. Skylar got to stand up and do a presentation on what she was thankful for this year and it was: God, playing with her cousins and her DS. She is very excited about visiting her Grandma and Granny in Charlotte this Thanksgiving and eating of course. We are all thankful to God that Granny is home from the hospital and able to celebrate this joyous time with us.
