Skylar has started taking sewing lessons from a friend of ours Mrs. Tammy. She loves it! I am so excited about her learning this very useful trade. She is saving her money to buy a sewing machine. I am so proud of her! She has been sewing pillow cases and wash cloth hangers and has given them all out to others. She is now working on making herself a dress from a pattern that Mrs. Tammy has. It is so important to us that our kids learn things that they can really use throughout their entire life. I hope she continues to learn and grow in this craft, it will be helpful to me around the house since I don't even know how to sew a button!!!Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Bueno/Buckley/Murray Beach trip 2010

We had such a great time at the beach with all the cousins! The kids had an exciting week with fun at the beach, pool, water slides, boat and on the golf cart. I still think Jayse's favorite time is playing Wii! We had great weather and were able to go an the boat several days. My favorite was docking at the end of the island and enjoying the beach all to ourselves. The kids got to go tubing and found lots of interesting sea creatures. We were joined by Denni's family on Wednesday and while we had a packed house it was truly an unforgettable experience! Matt rented a golf cart which was so much fun and made going to the beach a much more enjoyable experience. As usual the food was outstanding each night and we especially liked "Taco Tuesday" and the night Abuela made crab legs and fettuchine. Yummy!! We were thankful that Prisim got to spend some time with us and we will all miss her dearly!! Thanks for the memories!

Jayse's first sleepover
Jayse has his first sleepover at his best buddy Luke's house. He was so excited that when I asked him to go pack he got one of his dad's big suitcases and packed 7 pair of under ware, 5 shirts, 6 pair of shorts and 3 PJ's. I asked him just how long he thought he was sleeping over? He also asked Daddy if he could bring the basketball in case they wanted to play. So cute!!!!! They had so much fun playing Wii, eating pizza and ice cream, and staying up late! My baby is growing up!!!!

Swim team fun

Swim team has finally come to an end and while we missed the end of season party b/c we were traveling to Va. the kids came home to some great surprises! Riley was awarded "MVP" of the 6 and under group. We are so proud of her, she is a competitor and has improved so much in all her strokes. Her coach Miss. Colby gave her a certificate that said "Best Diver"! Good job girl!! Jayse completed his first year of swim team and did a great job as well. He started the year very unsure of his abilities and had to have the coach help him get half way across the pool. By the end of the year he was swimming in main events and he even swam all the way across the pool by himself last week which now allows him to have access to the diving boards. Miss. Colby have him a certificate for "happiest swimmer". He always has a smile on his face and loves swim meets (mainly b/c of the snack bar). Skylar was awarded with the "Coaches Award" for the 9-10 year old swim group. We are so proud of her for this b/c that is such a special award meaning that she takes direction from her coaches well, has a great attitude and is a great swimmer. Her certificate read "Most likely to ask to do butterfly". That is funny b/c at first she hated that stroke but with persistence she improved so much that she was asking to swim it. Great job guys!!!Chris's 40th birthday party luau

Happy 40th Chris!! Bobby and I had the privilege of throwing Chris a semi-surprise birthday party. She wanted a theme so we had a luau. The decorations turned out great in their back yard and despite some doubts the food turned out awesome!!! The kids enjoyed dressing up and Faith was such a great help to all of us. All the family was in to celebrate and we had a great time at dinner the night before and at the party after church. Hope you will remember this for a long time Chris!!!! We love you!!
